Reneé joined Airshed Planning Professionals (Pty) Ltd in 2002 and became a shareholder and principal consultant in 2006. She earned her master’s degree (with distinction) in the field of science in 2009 at the University of Pretoria, with the focus on the air quality impacts over the Vaal Triangle Airshed Priority Area. Through her work at Airshed, she has completed numerous air quality impact assessments for mines (i.e., coal, mineral sands, manganese, copper, platinum and gold), industries (i.e., metal recover, chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper and power generation) and municipal activities (i.e., wastewater treatment works and landfills). She has also been involved in the air quality management plans for the Vaal Triangle Airshed Priority Area and Limpopo province. Her acoustic work includes environmental noise impact assessments for mines, power generation, process industries, transport, and gas pipelines as well as baseline noise surveys for residential and industrial clients. Her projects have spanned throughout Africa and have also included countries such as Madagascar, Suriname and Afghanistan. In her spare time, Reneé loves to travel and spend time in nature.
